2020 Mosaic Experiment Theme Announced

We are thrilled to unveil our 2020 Mosaic Experiment theme. Join as we go "Through The Looking Glass" later this year!

Before announcing, we contacted the very creative burner called Corvus and received permission to unveil the individual who made the initial theme pitch. Corvus agreed and is already excited to share ideas for how we can play with this theme.

The original pitch: "Reflections of reality through subjective perspectives. A chance to walk in the shoes of another and collectively appreciate and understand the struggles we face together." Here is the imagery included with that initial pitch…

Your choices:
Pitch... Through the Looking Glass
Reflections of reality through subjective perspectives. A chance to walk in the shoes of another and collectively appreciate and understand the struggles we face together.

Pitch... First Contact
With an overarching alien theme; the idea also lends itself to first time burners, first meetings, and other firsts (wink). I envision an alien spaceship effigy with a useable meeting space for people looking for new faces.

Pitch... Different Kind of Human
The 10 Principles create a community where we all enjoy space to experiment with who we are, to express ourselves, to be included - make art out of being human. So many of us find that attending burns brings about, catalyzes, intensifies or stirs up change in our lives. In short, being a burner has made us different than we were before. This theme also links with intersectionality, embracing and learning about the unique paths all our lives have taken and experiments with setting aside all the mindless ways the wider culture is toxic. From a creative standpoint, there's a huge array of humanoid characters to choose from! Droids, fae, paradigm shifters, avengers, mythology and pop culture! So what do you want to do? How do you experiment with being human?
