We’re just one month away from Mosaic Experiment 2026: The Ridiculous Revolution, and the volunteers that take time out of their busy lives to plan this event have been putting in a ton of work to make it all happen this year. 2026 has been a year full of changes here at Mosaic; the LLC has changed hands and been expanded and we’ve thought it best to look at the ways in which our Experiment has fallen short in the past, and try something new.

Despite the intentions in helping folks out when they’ve experienced harm, it’s become glaringly apparent of the cracks that exist in the way that consent related issues have sometimes been handled in prior years. While we cannot change the things that have happened, we can hold ourselves accountable for the ways in which our organization has caused those affected to feel unheard, uncared for, or invalidated in their concerns and experiences.

So what changes have we been working on to better serve the community in this regard? With the expansion of the LLC, we’ve created a new position, the Consent Liaison, to provide oversight for the Consent Team in order to ensure that reports are being handled with more care, within a timeline that is respectful to the parties involved, and to safeguard the impartiality of how cases should be handled.

Additionally, we’ve laid out the foundations for what we’re calling the Accountability Board, which is what our latest episode of The Minute in The Mud is all about. In it, we talk with Wonder, one of our new LLC’s and Consent Liaison, who gives us all the details you need to know about the new Accountability Board.

Sanctuary Needs You!

When life is turned up to 11, call for Sanctuary.

Sanctuary is a safe place for participants feeling overwhelmed by anything. In order to make Sanctuary safe, we need Spaceholders to welcome those in need. No experience necessary. Only requirements are a calm demeanor, desire to help, and ability to be sober and truly present for 3 hours. Great for those with mobility limitations.

Previous sanctuary or professional mental health experience? Consider a 6 hour Shift Lead. Now with cart! (MOrg lead approval required)

Licensed mental health provider? Consider being on call for emergencies.

Online Ranger Training and the New LLC

We're a little over 6 weeks out from Mosaic Experiment 2026: The Ridiculous Revolution and we've got some updates for all you Experimenters out there!

We'll be hosting two separate online Ranger Training sessions for all you budding Razorgrass Rangers that have been signing up for shifts. Effigy, Temple, and Art Grant Applications have all closed as of today, so everyone that submitted for a grant should pay close attention to their email in the coming days.

Registrations and Early Entry Requests Now Open!

Registrations are open!

Theme Camps, Art Installations you want featured on the Placement Map, RV/Car Camping, & Fire all need to be registered with us to make sure we reserve enough space for you out on the Razorgrass.

We're also accepting applications for Early Entry if you've got a large theme camp that will take extra time to set up. Participants with mobility needs can also use this form to request early entry as an accommodation.

Volunteers who sign up for shifts before the event to help us set up, will receive Early Entry without needing to fill out the form. Speaking of which, all of our volunteers will receive a voucher for a meal prepared by our amazing Kitchen Possums over in DPW, so if you have any food allergies or dietary needs, make sure to fill out the Allergens and Dietary Needs for Volunteer Shifts form so we can make sure your meal is one that will agree with you.

With theme submissions now closed, the MOrg has looked at all of your ideas for this year's theme and vote for their top five. It's now up to you, dear community, to cast your votes via our convenient ranked-choice voting system to determine what the theme for Mosaic 2026 shall be!

Cascade

A cascade is the sacred surrender of many small currents into one shared descent—like a waterfall where separate streams of thought, intention, and vision gather among like-minded souls, then spill together into motion. It is the moment when ideas, once held in individual vessels, tip forward in trust, falling side by side until they become a collective force—sometimes building things of beauty, sometimes plunging into the unknown—yet always shaping something larger than any single drop could imagine.

Wrought With Whimsy

Pause. Breathe.

Set aside the weight you’ve been carrying for so very long for just a few brief moments.

Now stick out your tongue.

When everything seems at its darkest we can let it consume us in a downward spiral or we can look up to the stars and see ourselves in them. Shining little beacons of wonder and hope, burning brightly to hold that darkness at bay.

The act of play feeds our inner child, that little glimmer that lives in all of us, no matter our age. And like the distant stars, the more we feed that child, the brighter that glimmer will shine.

Letting go of the burdens we torment ourselves with from time to time in order to be silly is an act of rebellion against the mechanizations of subjugation.

Ridiculousness is encouraged, the Fool is celebrated. We rejoice in the loony, the farcical, and the nonsensical.

Laugh. Play. Be silly. Be Wrought With Whimsy, for we must remain whimsical to survive the horrors of this world.

The Unsent Invite

The forest is defined as much by its empty clearings as by its standing wood. There is a deep power in the spaces where a seed was meant to fall but the wind carried it elsewhere or where a branch reached out for a neighbor and found only the air. This season we gather under the banner of The Unsent Invite to look at the hidden energy of the unspoken and the unintended. We are exploring the ghosts of our intentions and the letters held close to the chest and the calls for connection that were met with a ringing silence.

It is a theme for those who are ready to sit in the mystery of the gap and look at the structural beauty of what almost was. We are looking at the archives of the unexpressed and the hidden roots of the stories that were never allowed to bloom. This is an invitation to consider the weight of the silence and how we navigate a landscape where the most important information is the bit that went missing.

This is a call to honor the messengers who got lost and the recipients who are still waiting. We are tending to the garden of the unsent and the ignored while trusting that even a broken connection has a place in the larger history of the woods. This year we find the magic in the maybe and the beauty in the things we were told to keep private.

Mind Matters

Our mindset determines our reality. Our perspectives are shaped by our experiences. New experiences broaden the lens through which we view the world. The practice of immediacy invites each of us to grow and change. An understanding of others' perspectives broadens our own and contributes to a shared reality that we can shape together. De-fracture our shared reality through shared understanding! "Change your mind, and you change your world."

Holy smokes, folks, the 2026 Burn season is starting and we decided to kick things off early by sharing the dates with you for this year’s event.

Mosaic Experiment 2026 will be held from Thursday, October 8th to Sunday, October 11th, at the place we call Home, Reclaim.

So mark your calendars, schedule your off-time, and lie to your boss and coworkers again by telling them you’re attending a family reunion.
